PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods for targetingα5β1 integrin, novel anti-α5β1 antibodies, compositions and kits comprising the antibodies, and methods of making and using the antibodies.SOLUTION: An anti-α5β1 antibody comprises: a VL domain including CDR-L1 having a specific sequence, CDR-L2 having a specific sequence, and CDR-L3 having a specific sequence; and a VH domain including CDH-H1 having a specific sequence, CDR-H2 having a specific sequence, and CDR-H1 having a specific sequence. Also provided is a method of using the anti-α5β1 antibody for treating cancer, ocular disease or autoimmune disease that exhibits a disease or disorder involving abnormal angiogenesis, abnormal vascular permeability and/or vascular leakage.
