PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of recording an image being excellent in wet spreading properties and scratch resistance and suppressing occurrence of uneven printing onto a low-ink-absorptive or non-ink-absorptive recording medium.SOLUTION: An image recording method includes: a surface modification step of performing surface modification of a recording surface of a low-ink-absorptive or non-ink-absorptive recording medium and causing a wet tension of the recording surface to be equal to or more than 40 mN/m; a reaction liquid adhesion step of causing reaction liquid containing a flocculant to adhere to the recording surface subsequent to the surface modification step; and an image recording step of recording an image on the recording surface by using an ink composition for ink jet recording containing a color material and water subsequent to the reaction liquid adhesion step. |
