<p>SURGICAL DEVICE A surgical device (11), comprising: a first jaw (50); a second jaw (80) in opposed correspondence to the first jaw (50), the second jaw (80) including a knife member (104) movably disposed therewithin, the knife member (104) prevented from moving within the second jaw (80) unless the first jaw (50) is in a closed position relative to the second jaw (80); an elongate shaft pivotably coupled to the first (50) and second (80) jaws, the elongate shaft defining a longitudinal axis therethrough; a first driver (88) configured to be coupled to a first rotatable drive shaft (94); a second driver (98) configured to be coupled to a second rotatable drive shaft (102); a first gear train; and a second gear train; wherein the first and second gear trains meshingly engage the first (94) and second (102) rotatable drive shafts, respectively, such that the first and second gear trains enable independent rotation of the first (50) and second (80) jaws relative to the longitudinal axis.</p> |
