PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nitride-based red light-emitting phosphor in a red, green and blue (RGB) lighting system.SOLUTION: There is provided a red light-emitting phosphor which is based on a CaAlSiNtype compound activated with divalent europium. In one embodiment, there is provided the nitride-based red light-emitting compound which has an impurity oxygen content of less than about 2 percentage by weight and contains a solid solution of a calcium and strontium compound (Ca, Sr) AlSiN:Eu. In another embodiment, there is provided the nitride-based red light-emitting compound in which a (Ca,Sr)AlSiN:Eucompound further contains halogen in an amount ranging from about 0 to about 2 atomic percentage (In the formula, the halogen may be fluorine (F), chlorine (Cl) or any combination thereof). In further another embodiment, there is provided the nitride-based red light-emitting compound in which at least half of halogen is distributed on a 2-fold coordinated nitrogen (N2) site compared to a 3-fold coordinated nitrogen (N3) site. |
