ASPHERIC FLUID FILLED LENS OPTIC A non-round fluid lens assembly includes a non-round rigid lens (108) and a flexible membrane (110) attached to the non-round rigid lens (108), such that a cavity (106) is formed between the non-round rigid lens (108) and the flexible membrane (110). A reservoir (114) in fluid communication with the cavity (106) allows a fluid to be transferred into and out of the cavity (106) so as to change the optical power of the fluid lens assembly. In an embodiment, a front surface (118) of the non-round rigid lens (108) is aspheric. Additionally or alternatively, a thickness of the flexible membrane (110) may be contoured so that it changes shape in a spheric manner when fluid is transferred between the cavity (106) and the reservoir (114).
