PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for controlling atmosphere on and above a free surface of molten glass.SOLUTION: A chamber 101 which holds the molten glass 113 having the free surface 114, includes a bellows 4, an encapsulation ring 10 and covers 30 and 50. The bellows 4 is connected to the chamber 101, and the encapsulation ring 10 is connected to the bellows 4. The encapsulation ring 10 may have one or more devices associated with action of the chamber 101, which includes an atmosphere supply pipe 14, an electric lead, a differential pressure sensor 16, a thermo-couple, and an oxygen sensor and/or a reserved port 18. The encapsulation ring 10 has an upper opening section with an inner diameter. The cover 30 is connected to the encapsulation ring 10 so as to be removed, and extends over the upper opening section of the encapsulation ring. The encapsulation ring 10 is disposed between the cover 30 and the chamber 101. The cover 30 may have various parts which are independently removal. |
