Provided is a ceramic honeycomb structure which exceeds the range of application of a conventional honeycomb structure, and for which a new function is imparted to the honeycomb structure, and the flow of a new fluid can be handled. This honeycomb structure comprises ceramic and has at least a first end surface, a second end surface, a first side wall, and a second side wall, and has multiple flow paths extending from the first end surface to the second end surface and partitioned by inner walls. In addition, this honeycomb structure has connecting holes formed by first apertures, which are formed in the first side wall or the second side wall, and second apertures, which are formed in a plurality of the inner walls opposing the first apertures, and connect multiple flow paths. The connecting holes are not formed in the outermost flow path, of the multiple flow paths facing the first side wall or the second side wall. |
