This flow cytometer is provided with a flow cell (flow path; 11) for causing a test particle (P) to be moved by a fluid and flow, a photography unit (14) for photographing a plurality of unit photography regions divided into surface areas smaller than the test particle (P) and arranged in a direction parallel to the flow cell (11), a speed detection unit (13) for detecting the speed of the fluid or the test particle (P) within the flow cell (11), a switching operation means for carrying out a switching operation for switching the photographed unit photography region in order from the upstream side to the downstream side of the flow cell (11) at the speed, and an image data creation means for creating image data on the basis of the photography data obtained for each of the plurality of unit photography regions as a result of the switching operation. Because a partial particle region that is a part of the test particle (P) is repeatedly photographed at the plurality of unit photography regions, the image of the partial particle region is clearer, and it is thus possible to enhance the accuracy of test particle (P) discrimination. |
