CORE OF AN ELECTRICAL MACHINE

A core member (200) of an electrical machine is described. In a first embodiment, the core member (200) includes a yoke portion (208) having a cylindrical shape and a plurality of tapered teeth (210-1) and a plurality of straight teeth (210-2). Both types of teeth (210-1, 210-2) extending in radial direction from the yoke portion (208). Each tapered tooth (210-1) and each straight tooth (210-2) has side walls extending substantially parallel to the central axis of the core (200). Each tapered tooth (210-1) is adjacent to a straight tooth (210-2), thus, tapered teeth (210-1) and straight teeth (210-2) are alternating in circumferential direction. Between two adjacent teeth a slot (220) is formed into which a winding could be inserted in radial direction.
