PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery that can more effectively deal with internal short-circuit of a power generating element of the battery.SOLUTION: A power generating element 3 is configured by winding a foil-like positive electrode plate 22 and a foil-like negative electrode plate 23 while a separator is sandwiched therebetween, each of the foil-like positive electrode plate 22 and the foil-like negative electrode plate 23 is provided with an active material layer forming portion 22b, 23b forming an active material layer, and a non-coating portion 22a, 23a which does not form an active material layer, the foil-like positive electrode plate 22 or the foil-like negative electrode plate 23 is configured so that the contour of a corner portion of the active material layer forming portion on the outermost periphery of the winding is located inside of a virtual contour obtained by extending two lines forming the corner portion and intersecting the two lines, and the portion of the contour of the corner portion which is located inside of the virtual contour is disposed to be overlapped over the non-coating portion and the active material layer forming portion continuous with the non-coating portion in thickness direction view. |
