The present invention relates to a secondary battery and a production method therefor. The objective is to balance higher capacity with higher output for the secondary battery. This secondary battery is provided with an electrode group (11) comprising a positive electrode and a negative electrode that are wound with a separator therebetween; a positive electrode lead (16) or negative electrode lead (17) having a weld face that is bent with respect to the electrode group (11) winding axis direction; a positive electrode collector tab (12) welded onto the weld face (16a) of the positive electrode lead (16); and a negative electrode collector tab (13) welded onto the weld face (17a) of the negative electrode lead (17). The above configuration allows the secondary battery to be characterized in that cross-sectional area is secured for a conductive path while space is secured for a larger electrode group (11).
