The objective of the present invention is to provide: a modified polymer which has excellent productivity and is capable of providing a rubber composition that has excellently low heat generation; a rubber composition which contains this modified polymer; and a tire which is produced using this rubber composition. A modified polymer according to the present invention can be obtained by having a conjugated diene polymer, which does not contain a tetrasubstituted olefin and/or a trisubstituted olefin, react with a modifying agent that has a nitrone group and a carboxy group.
