A multi-terminal high-voltage modular multilevel converter. The converter comprises an (N+1)-bridge arm modular multilevel converter, a (2N+2)-bridge arm modular multilevel converter and a (3N+3)-bridge arm modular multilevel converter. Each bridge arm is formed by n sub-modules connected in series, and the sub-module is a half-bridge sub-module or a full-bridge sub-module. The multi-terminal high-voltage modular multilevel converters each has one direct current (DC) terminal and N alternating current (AC) terminals, and the N AC terminals operate independently. Compared with the traditional modular multilevel converter, the provided multi-terminal high-voltage modular multilevel converter saves (N-1)/2N bridge arms and (N-1)/N bridge arm inductors, keeps all advantages of the traditional modular multilevel converter, can directly realize AC-DC, DC-AC and AC-AC conversion, and is applicable to application scenarios such as high-power motor driving and high-voltage DC grid-connected distributed generation. |
