The present invention relates to a composition for preventing and treating respiratory inflammatory diseases, which contains a Moracin M compound or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof as an active ingredient. In particular, it has been confirmed that the Moracin M compound of the present invention strongly controls inflammation in lung cells by strongly inhibiting generation of IL-6 which is inflammatory cytokine in an inhibitory activity confirming experiment at in vitro lung epithelial cell. Also, as a result of confirming a bronchitis controlling function using a lipopolysaccharide (LPS) induced bronchitis experimental model, it has been confirmed that samples of the present invention in the experiment exhibit a strong effect in controlling respiratory diseases. The composition has been confirmed to be useful as a pharmaceutical composition or a health functional food for preventing and treating respiratory inflammation diseases.
