PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To read data from a storage device and restore another data using a parity, in parallel, for a longer time.SOLUTION: When n pieces of data (n is an integer of 3 or more) are written on a first storage device 21, a parity calculation section 11 adds dummy data to each of the data other than the first data of the maximum size, so as to be equal in size to the first data, calculates (n-1) parities on the basis of the data with the dummy data added thereto and the first data, and stores the (n-1) parities on a second storage device 22. In reading the n pieces of data from the first storage device 21, a control section 12 executes read processing of reading second data of the minimum size from the first storage device 21, and processing of restoring each of data other than the second data by use of the (n-1) parities and the dummy data, in parallel. |
