The present invention provides a method for selecting a communication mode. The method comprises: determining whether a target terminal is located in a D2D communication range corresponding to a current terminal, and/or determining whether a communication state of the current terminal meets a preset condition of establishing D2D communication; and when the target terminal is located in the D2D communication range corresponding to the current terminal and/or when the communication state of the current terminal meets the preset condition, performing, by the current terminal, communication by using a D2D mode, otherwise performing communication by using a non-D2D mode. The present invention also provides an apparatus for selecting a communication mode, a terminal, and a base station. By using the technical schemes of the present invention, an optimal communication mode can be accurately selected, thereby helping to reduce the energy consumption of a terminal, and improving the frequency utilization rate. |
