The present invention relates to a surface plasmon wavelength division apparatus and a method thereof. In the method, the surface wavelength division apparatus filters surface plasmon by radiating incident light to a plane which is considered as an incidence plane, formed by a direction vector of a metal slit and a vertical vector of a metal surface, while adjusting a polarization state of the incident ray in a three-layered thin film structure on which a metal slit is formed. In the same polarization state, the apparatus adjusts the polarization state that light of two different wavelength bands can be excited in opposite directions.
