PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition which softens or dissolves the dental calculus of an animal.SOLUTION: The invention relates to a dental calculus softening or solubilizer for nonhuman animals containing the following compositions as active ingredients: (A) 1-300 mM of calcium ion, and (B) 7-300 mM of a substance with a pKa of 3 or more and less than 6; wherein pH is 3 or more and less than 6; and 0.63×log[B]+4.04≤[log[Ca]+[pH]×1.1]≤1.01×log[B]+5.49 (where, [Ca]: a concentration (mM) of the calcium ion (A) in the composition, [pH]: a pH of the composition, and [B]: a concentration (mM) of the substance (B) with the pKa is 3 or more and less than 6 in the composition, but [log[Ca]+[pH]×1.1] is 5.0 or more and 7.2 or less. |
