<p>A method of installing an opaque roof onto a conservatory comprises the step of providing a plurality of pre-assembled roof modules 5, each comprising a plurality of rafters 7 extending between an upper support 11 forming at least part of a ridge beam, and a lower support 9 for attaching to a ring beam. The lower supports are then fastened to the ring beam and the upper supports of opposing modules are fastened together to form a ridge beam. The method may include an initial step of removing the translucent roof previously installed on the conservatory. Insulation may be fitted into each module followed by the fitting of an opaque covering onto the roof frame 1. The insulation may be fitted between the rafters of the roof modules. The covering may be in the form of a plurality of tiles.</p> |
