The present invention provides a cosmetic composition comprising a Reynoutria sachalinensis extract as an active ingredient for alleviating skin wrinkles. A cosmetic composition comprising a Reynoutria sachalinensis extract as an active ingredient for alleviating skin wrinkles of the present invention provides a cosmetic composition with excellent efficiency of ultraviolet light recovery for alleviating skin wrinkles, which represents effects in alleviating skin wrinkles when adding the cosmetic composition to a cosmetic base and concentration-dependently inhibits an MMP-1 collagen degradation enzyme as a cause of wrinkle generation by ultraviolet light.
