<p>Provided are a display device which has a ground line for blocking the inflow of static electricity into a pixel region and a method for manufacturing the same. According to an embodiment, the display device may include: first and second substrates which face each other to fill liquid crystal in a gap therebetween; gate lines and data lines which intersect with each other on the second substrate to form a pixel region; and a first ground line which is formed on the first substrate to block the inflow of a surge voltage applied from the outside into the pixel region.</p>
