The present invention relates to a tile and a method for producing the same. A tile is produced by combining slag and industrial byproducts generated during a steel producing process. A tile body contains major components and other unavoidably mixed impurities, wherein the major components are 45 to 55 wt% of silicon dioxide (SiO_2), 10 to 15 wt% of iron oxide (Fe_2O_3), 10 to 15 wt% of aluminum oxide (Al_2O_3), 8 to 13 wt% of calcium oxide (CaO), and 10 to 15 wt% of magnesium oxide (MgO). A tile having excellent high strength and wear resistance can be produced through the steps of: preparing slag and industrial byproducts generated during a steel-producing process; measuring the slag and byproducts, and controlling a compositional ratio of major components to be included in the range; mixing the slag and byproducts; melting a composition; maintaining a temperature of a melted material; molding the melted material into a tile shape; and heating a molded product. Accordingly, the tile produced according to the present invention has a pyroxene system crystal, can replace a conventional basalt tile, can protect basalt which is a natural ore, and can reduce a burden of costs for raw materials of an imported basalt pipe. Moreover, slag and industrial byproducts are produced into a tile to be widely applied, so that a novel use having high value added and benefits can be developed. Also, costs taken to waste or landfill slag and industrial byproducts can be saved, and a tile can be produced at low costs. |
