A mobile video monitoring/surveillance apparatus 10 comprising a chassis 12, at least one video camera 24, 26, an electric battery and a fuel cell. The chassis has a ground engaging arrangement 14 for allowing the apparatus to move over the ground, where the arrangement may be in the form of a tow bar 16 for hitching to a vehicle. The at least one camera is supported by the chassis and is operative to acquire video data and transmit the data to a remote location. An electric battery provides electric power to the at least one camera, and the fuel cell is configured to recharge the battery whilst the at least one camera acquires the video data. The at least one camera may be connected to the chassis by a telescopically extendible rod 20. The data may be transmitted via a cellular communications aerial 28. |
