The purpose of the present invention is to provide a head rest which can achieve both more compactness and improved link rigidity. This head rest (1) is provided with a fixed member (4) which is disposed on a seat back (10) with head rest pillars (2a, 2b) interposed therebetween, a movable member (5) which can move in the direction forwards away from or backwards returning towards the fixed member (4), and an X-link mechanism which links the fixed member (4) and the movable member (5) and which has an inside link (6) and an outside link (7) rotatably connected through a cross connection unit (8) in the center, wherein the inside link (6) and/or the outside link (7) is formed to have approximately a U-shape in cross-section, and the cross connection unit (8) is arranged in a position where the inside link (6) and the outside link (7) overlap. |
