The heat exchanger (1) for the oil-fired water-heating boiler works in counterflow. It consists of a stack of vertical high quality non-rusting steel plates (6) with cold water entering at the bottom (12) and moving up to the top (8). Hot gas enters a top space (3) in the heat exchanger casing (2) through a flue (4) leading from the combustion chamber and passes downward to an exit (5) under the stack of vertical plates. The plates have patterned surfaces made by pressing metal sheets. They are held together by tension rods (7,11) extending between anchor plates (13-16). There is a drain at the bottom for condensate.
|
