A poppet valve arrangement used in a pipe terminal and/or flow coupler comprises a poppet valve 112 with a biasing device, e.g. spring, 115, and a housing 120. The housing 120 comprises an inlet, an outlet and a flow channel which provides fluid communication between the inlet and outlet when the poppet valve 112 is open. The fluid communication is blocked by the poppet valve 112 under action of the biasing device 115 when the poppet valve 112 is closed. The poppet valve 112 is supported with respect to the housing 120 by a channel splitter 119 that radially sections the flow channel into a sectioned substantially annular flow channel around the poppet valve 112, preferably along some of the biasing devices extent. The biasing device 115 can be shielded from the flow channel by a cover 115a to reduce the flow turbulence within the valve arrangement, with the biasing device 115 encircling the flow channel. The poppet valve can comprise an armature 111 at a distal end. In the flow coupler use, the flow channels can be mirror images of one another in the mating pipe terminals. |
