An apparatus and a method for heating parisons (1) made of thermoplastic material and designed to be blow-moulded to form containers, the apparatus comprising: a conveyor (2) configured to transport the parisons (1) along a predetermined path (P), heating means (3) operating on the parisons (1) along the path (P); the heating means (3) comprise a laser emitter configured to generate a laser beam (F) which stikes at least one portion of the parisons (1) along at least one stretch of the predetermined path (P).
