The present invention relates to an antibody specifically binding to Angiopoietin-2 (Ang-2), which is an angiogenesis inducing factor, to inhibit a function thereof. More specifically, the present invention provides an Ang-2-specific antibody; an inhibitor for suppressing angiogenesis, containing the antibody as an active ingredient and a composition for treating diseases related to Ang-2 activation and/or overproduction; and a composition for diagnosing the diseases related to Ang-2 activation and/or overproduction, containing the antibody.
