<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a jet engine capable of varying a fuel injection direction, and a method of operating the jet engine. <P>SOLUTION: This jet engine includes an air compressing unit for generating compressed air by compressing air, a fuel injection unit 30 for injecting fuel into the compressed air, and a combustion unit for burning the fuel. The fuel injection unit 30 includes an injection angle control unit for changing the direction of injection ports 32A-32D for injecting the fuel. Since the injection angle control unit changes the direction of the injection ports 32A-32D, the fuel injection direction can be varied. When operating the jet engine, combustion control by adjusting the fuel injection direction can be achieved in addition to combustion control by adjusting a fuel injection quantity. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
