摘要 <p>The electrical machine comprises a plurality of electrical windings which comprise fluid channels through which a heat transfer fluid, supplied via a fluid manifold 820 from inlet/outlet pipes 860,862, can pass. The manifold comprises a main body 1000 comprising a fluid chamber, divided into inlet and outlet chambers by wall 1002, and an electrically insulating element 1010 coupled to the main body. The insulating element comprises a plurality of fluid ports for communication with inlet/outlet connectors 892,894 of the fluid channels 898. The insulating body 1010 comprises two insulating plates 1010a, 1010b with a plurality of electrically insulating fluid channels 1032 formed in the surface of the plate 1010b which engages the inner surface of plate 1010a. Fluid passages in plate 1010a extend from the location of the connectors to the plate inner face where they are in fluid communication with the ends 1034a of the channels. Through holes in plate 1010b connect the other ends 1034b of the channels to the fluid chamber. The channels lengths are such as to ensure that the electrical resistance of the fluid passing there through between the connectors and the main body of the manifold is greater than a threshold resistance.</p>
