<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve presentation effect by adopting a freeze presentation, and to restrain reduction in the presentation effect caused by the freeze presentation executed in an unexpected mode. <P>SOLUTION: When a variable display presentation is started, the variable display of initial symbols is started while presentation symbols stop-displayed in a presentation display portion in the last variable display presentation are displayed as the initial symbols in the presentation display portion. Normally, the variable display of the initial symbols displayed in the presentation display portion is started as the variable display presentation is started. However, if the freeze presentation is executed, the initial symbols displayed in the presentation display portion are retained as they are over a prescribed period of time from the start of the variable display presentation.
