An air curtain device 1 provides an air curtain from the top to the bottom of an opening 2 and comprises a main air driving means 3 providing a main airstream vertically across the opening forming a main air curtain 4. At least a pair of lateral air driving means (5, Fig. 2) positioned at or adjacent to respective ends of the main air driving means 3 each provide a lateral airstream to form a lateral air curtain 6 angled relative to the main air curtain at each side of the opening 2. The main airstream may be substantially planar and parallel to the opening 2 and may extend completely across the opening. The lateral airstream may extend from the main airstream and be angled partially towards a surround of the opening. The lateral air driving means may emit a divergent airstream and may comprise adjustable vanes. Both main and lateral air driving means may comprise a blower fan. The device is particularly suitable for providing an air curtain across a doorway or opening in a wall 7. |
