<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hybrid vehicle which starts an internal combustion engine without affecting traveling when driven by a motor. <P>SOLUTION: When an engine 10 is stopped and a motor 11 is disconnected from the engine 10 by a first clutch 51 and a second clutch 52 during EV mode, a controller 21 engages the first clutch 51 or second clutch 52 to connect the motor 11 to the engine 10, to start the engine 10 with rotation power output from the motor 11.
