A retainer assembly for a cable raceway 10 comprises a bridge member (15) configured to extend across the channels 12 of the raceway and to be retained there by one or more flexible cable ties 18. Retaining feet 16 are mounted on the bridge member and are movable downwards into the cable channels to retain wires or cables 100 therein. The retaining feet engage the bridge member with a ratchet mechanism which prevents reversal of their downward movement into the channel while the bridge member is in place. Projections (22, Fig 2) on the bottom of the bridge go into apertures (14, Fig 1) on the raceway to prevent transverse or longitudinal movement of the bridge.
