A monitoring device 1 for monitoring the inactivity of a person 5 in a zone 2 such as a dwelling comprising sensors e.g. contact, light, movement or camera sensors 4a-d in separate sub-zones 3a-d such as a living room or W.C . A modelling module 9 generates two inactivity models derived over different time periods and may contain data from multiple sensors that may have been averaged. An evaluation means 6 incorporating a test module 11 compares the models and if they differ the evaluation module 6 outputs a change indication A to a third party via interface 7. The transmitted information does not include such information as the location data e.g. W.C., bathroom, where the inactivity took place. |
