The invention relates to methods for obtaining potyvirus- and/or potexvirus- resistant plants. Said plants express, instead of a wild type chloroplastic phosphoglycerate kinase (cPGK) wherein the N-terminal sequence of the mature protein is MAKKSVG, a mutant cPGK wherein the serine residue in position 5 of said N-terminal sequence is replaced by an amino-acid residue other than serine.
