1. A method for supplying feed to animals kept in restricted compartments comprising the steps of:
(a) providing a plurality of restricted compartments; (b) providing a dispensing unit for selectively dispensing an amount of feed to the plurality of restricted compartments; (c) providing a control center for supplying feed to the dispensing unit; and (d) moving the dispensing unit along the restricted compartments wherein the dispensing unit is provided with at least one dispensing element for supplying feed to opposite compartments of the control center and a distance (a) between the at least one dispensing element and the restricted compartments is variable during the movement of the dispensing unit.
