1. An image processing apparatus for communicating with an external apparatus, the image processing apparatus comprising:
a storage unit configured to store first authentication information about a user who logs in to the image processing apparatus; an accepting unit configured to accept an instruction from the user; a notifying unit configured to notify the external apparatus of the accepted instruction; a reception unit configured to receive a processing request generated on a basis of the notified instruction from the external apparatus with second authentication information; a determination unit configured to determine whether the stored first authentication information coincides with the received second authentication information; a process unit configured to execute image processing in accordance with the processing request received by the reception unit if the determination unit determines that the first authentication information coincides with the second authentication information; and a control unit configured not to delete the first authentication information from the storage unit if the user has logged out from the image processing apparatus before the determination unit determines that the first authentication information coincides with the second authentication information and to delete the first authentication information from the storage unit if the user has logged out from the image processing apparatus and the determination unit determines that the first authentication information coincides with the second authentication information.
