PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article-of-commerce sales data registration processing apparatus capable of recognizing an article of commerce even if a reader can image only part of the article of commerce.SOLUTION: An article-of-commerce sales data registration processing apparatus comprises: an input/output unit to/from which information is input/output; an article-of-commerce file storing therein article-of-commerce information for every article code uniquely allocated to each article of commerce; a dictionary file storing therein a feature quantity of an entire image indicating an entire article of commerce and a feature quantity of a divided image indicating part of the article of commerce for every article code; and an imaging unit imaging the article of commerce.
