The present invention relates to an apparatus for detecting an over current in an inverter and a method thereof. The apparatus for detecting an over current according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: an inverter which verifies a supply current supplied to an electronic motor by switching a switching device according to a control current to execute the operation of the electronic motor; a current detection unit which is installed on wiring of the inverter and measures an over current of the control current output from the inverter; and a control unit which checks whether or not the current detection unit detects the over current, generates an interrupt service routine for checking the over current information in detecting the over current, detects the over current information by the generated interrupt service routine, and determines the drive of the inverter. |
