PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packing material which is a novel message tool having a sentence (letter) and a Japanese cloth wrapper (package), and which gives strong impression of a message sent by a sender to a receiver. ! SOLUTION: A packing material 1 for being wrapped around a product and for packing the product comprises: a mount 10; an entry column 11 on which a message can be written, and which is disposed on an outer surface 10S (front surface) of the mount 10; a buffer material 12 formed by mold cutting of a design 12c including a message 12b to a seat-state cushion material 12a having a predetermined thickness and disposed on an inner surface 10R (rear surface) of the mount 10; and an adhesive part 13 for adhering at least four corners of the inner surface of the buffer material 12 to corresponding positions of the inner surface 10R of the mount 10, in a state that the inner surface of the buffer material 12 covers the inner surface 10R of the mount 10. !
