PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device that has suppressed the occurrence of mottled rainbow when an oriented polyester film is used as a polarizer protective film for both of a pair of polarizing plates.SOLUTION: There is provided a polarizer protective film composed of an orientation polyester film, where the orientation polyester film has a retardation of 4000 to 30000 nm and an Nz coefficient of 1.7 or less, and the amount of change in film haze &Dgr;Hz (&Dgr;Hz=haze after heating-haze before heating) after heat treatment at 170°C for 20 minutes is less than 1.5%.
