PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pointer-indicated value calculating method that can be effective even in cases where the pointer shifts along a non-circular scale and can accurately calculate values indicated by the pointer even if the pointer is short.SOLUTION: Regarding two reference graduations 37a and 37b where a line segment L1 linking the respective coordinates Ra and Rb of a plurality of adjoining graduations and the center line C of a pointer 33 cross each other, the indication of the pointer 33 is calculated on the basis of the coordinates Ra and Rb and indications of the reference graduations 37a and 37b.
