PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a housing capable of preventing a light guide plate from directly contacting with a light source unit in a case of installing the light guide plate in the housing, and capable of attaching the light source unit from an upper opening, and a luminaire using the housing.SOLUTION: A long housing 50 having a substantially U-shaped cross section, includes a bottom surface part 51 to which a light source unit 10 having a light emitting diode 12 and a substance 11 is attached, and a pair of side wall parts 52a, 52b erected on both sides of the bottom surface part 51. In the housing, on the respective inner wall surface of the pair of side wall parts, a pair of flanges 54 extending in an inside direction is provided, and the extension length of the flange of one of the side wall parts is shorter than that of the flange of the other one. |
