PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic device configured to operate without using a commercial power supply and stored electric power as much as possible, to keep the stored power for a long time, thereby reducing power consumption cost of a user.SOLUTION: An electronic device, such as an image forming apparatus 1, includes a power generation section 36, a power storage section 37, and a power supply section 35 which receives electric power supplied from an external power source. A power switching section 39 selects whether to supply electric power to the device from the power generation section 36, the power storage section, and the power supply section 35, on the basis of a state and/or content of the operation of the device. A stored power measurement section 40 measures the amount of electric changes stored in the power storage section 37. The power switching section 39 selects a power supply source, on the basis of the amount of electric charges measured by the stored power measurement section 40. |
