PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling auxiliary device capable of effectively suppressing pressure loss of a cooling system in a low engine speed while effectively keeping cooling auxiliary performance at a high engine speed. ! SOLUTION: A cooling auxiliary device includes: a cylindrical gas-liquid separator body 21 disposed in a cooling water circulation passage and capable of separating a mixed gas by generating swirl flow in cooling water introduced therein; a flap member 22 disposed in the gas-liquid separator body 21, and rotatable to a first position for suppressing the swirl flow of the cooling water and a second position for permitting the swirl flow of the cooling water; and a torsion spring 23 for biasing the flap member 22 from the second position toward the first position.
