PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a trigger detection circuit capable of detecting a trigger signal for periodic trigger input, and to provide a trigger detection IC chip. ! SOLUTION: A trigger detection circuit can detect a trigger signal by resetting to the same initial state for periodic trigger input. An input signal VIN of pulse waveform is inputted to a capacitive element 3. A detection circuit 4 detects a trigger signal Vtrig from an output signal COMPIN of the capacitive element 3. Since the input signal VIN is attenuated by first and second resistive elements and connected with a capacitive element 3 for DC cut, the DC component of the input signal VIN is not transmitted to COMPIN.
