PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoelectric conversion element which is superior in designability and is capable of reflecting original colors of dye without worsening color properties. ! SOLUTION: A photoelectric conversion element comprises: a semiconductor electrode; a counter electrode; and an electrolytic layer held between the electrodes. The semiconductor electrode forms a particular letter, symbol or graphic symbol pattern. The electrolytic layer includes a benzoquinone derivative, a hydroquinone derivative and an ammonium salt.
