PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surgical stapling apparatus.SOLUTION: A surgical stapling apparatus includes an actuating device 12 including an elongated shaft 16; a tool assembly 14 disposed on a distal end of the shaft, where the tool assembly includes a first jaw member 13 supporting a cartridge assembly 15 having a plurality of surgical fasteners and includes a second jaw member 17 supporting an anvil 19, the first jaw member being movable in relation to the second jaw member between a separated position and an approximated position, one of the first and second jaw members including a cantilever at a proximal end thereof; and a firing cam bar assembly slidably disposed within the tool assembly and including a cam surface and a distal end. |
