PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an unsaturated quaternary ammonium salt with high purity, which includes no halogen in the molecule, has high safety, is harmless to environment, includes no water, further is excellent in solubility in water, organic solvents, usually used vinyl monomers, and resins, and is suitably used for various electrochemical devices, and an efficient and economical production method of the unsaturated quaternary ammonium salt, and to provide a composition which includes a compound of the unsaturated quaternary ammonium salt as a component.SOLUTION: A production method of an unsaturated quaternary ammonium salt using no water and/or no protonic organic solvent as a reaction solvent, and including a step to make a cyclic ether group-containing compound and a tertiary amine compound react with each other, and a composition containing the unsaturated quaternary ammonium salt are disclosed. |
